Hi Ren

I produce it using the booklet template on Publisher and then I'll print on our laser printer at work, using slightly thicker paper for the cover and then just staple together.  We have a long-arm stapler.  Very simple but the kids do like seeing their work in "print"

No money to do anything more professional.

Hi Sauce

Well done with this image and for working in the diamonds.  The one in the base is especially cleverly done.

Glad your work as editor is now complete and the anthology is at the printer's.  Lucky you found a reasonably priced local printer.

I have just started work on an anthology for the writing and poetry competitions we run locally but I will print it on our laser colour printer.  Maybe I'll post the tentative cover image I've designed.

excellent. for students' work? best of luck putting it together. will you also bind and trim it yourself? we did that a few years ago but it made sooo much work (we printed some 150 copies with 70 pages each ... our poor printer!).

Hi Sauce ~  Nice cover art. . .and having googled Rose Garrard. . .I found the sculpture. . .and a book about well-dressing with the sculpture on the cover. . .

From what I see. . .it looks like you did a mighty fine job of honoring the original.

Well done.

Ren

thanks, ren. i didn't find that when i googled - but i was spelling her name wrong and only discovered that when someone with more sense proof-read the MS for me.

Ah! Now you are talking - Sir Edward is my favourite Romantic composer- and favourite Western Classical composer overall (if we exclude Early Music). I'm sure he is not as pretty as this lass but he was a great man - and dogs were mega-important to him, I learned a few years ago.

i'm sure the local dogs appreciate his statue now, p.

Hi Sauce,

>S> I'm very relieved the book is now at the printers - my work as editor is now compelete (phew). we've ordered 200 copies POD as the main sales will be members and their friends and relatives. local printer was much better value than lulu and we know they are high quality (and we save on p&p as we can collect).

Well done!

The floral displays sound fab.

Hi Sauce,

Congrats on Malvern Writers' Circle's sixtith!

Congrats also on this design. Hard to tell what is your input and what the original sculpture. But I assume the diamonds are your addition? (Given the birthday). If so, they are both very good but the lower one is fanabulous! - well done.

Apropos the woman's face - reminds me of the human faces on the info-robots in the latest Dr Who - so not too sure about that - but not your fault.

So well done for this and good luck with sales of the anthology!

p.

Sauce,

I love this piece. I like the strong female elements of flowing hair and water.

thanks, diane  Smiley

the water is natural - we have lots of springs around here. the hair definitely flows like the curves of the hills - and the water. rose garrad's sculpture is very evocative, capturing the "spirit" of the spring here. trying to decide what the heck to use as a cover design (seemed to get left in my lap as editor) it struck me i could use malvina and maybe add a bit of bling. she didn't like the bling so we settled on re-drawing the water source and adding a reflection.
