Melody,

I have just been in the mood to blow bubbles lately, this makes it even more-so. I have seen the really big wand/bubble sets in the toy departments and I miss when my little boy loved to blow bubbles and we had a doberman that would chase and eat every one that we blew! I have to say I agree with placing the bubbles into a nicer backdrop would be more appealing to me.

Hi MD,

I'm not so sure about cropping - if you want "pure" pics of a bubble then you can do better ones, against pretty backgrounds - which would, indeed, be more aesthetically pleasing.

However, as is, it forms some interesting contrasts - between the perfect sphere and the different geometry of the background; between the rainbow colours and the tedium of the dirty-whites; between the ethereal bubble and the long-lasting plastics of the chairs and bins; between the almost-heavenly bubble and the hellish bins and other plastics. So I like the contrasts.

But yes, please take others as well against prettier backgrounds. But this makes a more important statement.

Cheers, p.

Very cool, Melody -- I agree, cropping the photo would certainly make the bubble more dramatic.

I still do bubbles myself. . .in the summer I have a dish of bubbles and a wand (a large copper wand) on the screen porch. . .and whenever the whim strikes. . .I blow bubbles.  *smile*

Wow, that's a large bubble.  Brings back memories.  My daughters used to love blowing bubbles when they were little.

You could crop the photo so that the bubble becomes the central focus.
