Nas,

Having broke down and purchased a pair of reading glasses yesterday - been fighting it for 3 months, I am thinking you may be onto something.

Heck! I must be pregnant!

Hope it's an English Setter.

There are two possible responses I can think of.

The first is a pregnant paws

and the second - woof, woof

I like your logic Diane.  Sounds a far better reason than thinking  brain cells are dying due to getting older or the onset of menopause, which creates all sorts of problems due to hormonal inbalance, including memory problems.

Pregnancy did similar to me.  I did some very daft things like leaving my keys in the door, losing my handbag, mood swings in addition to terrible, constant nausea.

Nas,

Since you mention it, I am wondering if the poor memory has a link to writing...I have noticed a decline in my memory as I have begun to write again. Maybe the blood flow is re-directed to the area of brain where our creativity lies and starves the area that deals with memories? It has been frustrating, but I guess on the positive side our bad memories get lost with the good ones. The brain has always fascinated me....I will have to pull out my books on the brain and see which side has creativity and which has memory - there could be something to my theory! Oh, did anyone see the Woman Who Never Forgets on 20/20 this weekend? Looking forward to reading her book.

Easy not to realise.  I have a terrible memory and forget quickly what I've seen/read.
