Per,

Well, there is certainly nothing wrong with a post like yours. Itr's nice to know I appeal in some way --- I send you all my sensory senses and hope they become absorbed.

Welcome to the Firebox --- hot in here, isn't it?

Hello Norm:

While I do not believe I am ready to enter a work into this forum nor am I ready to offer the required crit, I wanted to say that I'd read this sonnet and find it very pleasing.

A work that appeals to the senses is always one that will catch my eye.

Enjoyed.

This is a lovely sonnet. . .reads so very well, Norm. . .smooth. . .lilting. . .or that's how I read it anyway.  *smle*

I cannot offer anything metrical. . .it all falls well from the tongue for me. . .

The shadows on this sonnet I now write,
will darken every metaphor I've said,

I loved those two lines. . .

as every line is silent - out of sight.

And that line is so very true. . .no one hears. . .what is not read.

Beautiful.

Taste Yourself in This

If you dissolve my words into your heart,
like crystals they'd reflect some part of me.
The glinting sun would have us squint, apart.
With younger lack of insight, did we see
that ink on paper fades when poems aren't read.
The shadows on this sonnet I now write,
will darken every metaphor I've said,
as every line is silent - out of sight.
Should I unlock my secrets and write prose?
Unseal the findings I have known for years?
Then bid you sip and drink what no one knows,
as salted-flavored symbols mix with tears.
   With lips, imbibe, and taste yourself in this;
with love's cliché, let's seal this with a kiss.
