Hey, now!  I ain't said nuthin' 'bout ya at all, Norm.  I didn't even capitalize on the namesake!

P.S.  purely by cooincidence, I was once mistakenly introduced as Don Rickles... but that was only because the poor guy misheard my name!

If the world you'd be takin' by storm,
it ain't hap'nin' in this uniform,
'cause ya ain't writ in blue
'r done cursed 'r said screw...
so ya's scribbled too close ta old norm...

ya's gotta be freer, ya see;
don' worry ta rhyme none, 'r be
concerned about meter;
jes' let the thing peter
out...

Ya' know --- there aren't many who can write over 1200 poems and make almost half of them form poetry and 60% free verse. "Liberal" ??? I never found that to be a dirty word as Rush Limbaugh does --- ~smile~ (he IS a drug addict, right? --- and he is the same guy that told thsoe warning us of global warnings all those years that we were "environmental whackos"? That guy nauseates me -- a hypocite of the worst order).

Oh --- back to poetry ---

You really should mosey on over to Main Line and listen to my first cowboy poem and lyric dedicated to Eric (NOT free style).

Doug,

Well thanks for thinking of me here.You really aren't expecting a Firebox crit on this, are you?

No, not really; unless you feel it's needed.  Roll Eyes

By the way, my latest post in CA (#11) has a last line you'd love.  AND --- you will note that all my poems in my current 15 run there (Tribute Response poems to Mary) are all FORM poems. I am an equal opportunity poet --- almost 60 (free verse) - 40 (form) ~smile~.

60/40 is balanced? Was your math teacher a liberal?  Wink Smiley

You might say I swing both ways.

Does this make you bi-poetal?

Doug

A NORMal Limerick

I’m friends with a poet named Norm
who’s rather proficient with form.
To read his free-verse
is never a curse;
perhaps one day I’ll conform!
